The very popular mobile chipset maker Qualcomm has launched its new processor called Qualcomm Snapdragon 690 and it is the first chipset is coming with the 5G capability in the series. The company is utilizing Qualcomm X51 modem for the next-generation connectivity, the new chip also comes with Qualcomm 5th generation AI engine and that supports new multimedia capabilities such as 4K HDR video and more. Everything about Qualcomm Snapdragon 690 5G
The newly announced Qualcomm Snapdragon 690 5G is built on Samsung’s 8nm process and comes with an eight Kryo 560 CPU cores along with an Adreno 619L GPU for the graphical task. Having said that, the new chip is also claimed to offer up to 20 percent better CPU and up to 60 percent faster graphics performance.
It is also integrated with the in-house X51 modem and the same support up to 2.5GB/s download and up to 660Mbps upload speeds over the 5G networks. Its also capable to support various 5G technologies such as standalone (SA), non-standalone (NSA) modes, the sub-6GHz bands, TDD, FDD, and dynamic Spectrum sharing.
Furthermore, the brand new chip supports the HDR10 format and capable to offer 120Hz refresh rate displays. It also features Qualcomm’s FastConnect 6200 system which will include Wi-Fi 6, Bluetooth 5.1, and 2×2 MU-MIMO configurations. The chipset also supports up to 8GB of LPDDR4x RAM and supports the ISRO developed NavIC satellite navigation system.
