The popular chipset maker Qualcomm has officially introduced the latest Snapdragon X Plus Platform for laptops. The company says that the new processor will be offering 37% better CPU performance and 54 percentage less power usage when compared with the competitors. The new processor also supports on-device AI mobile applications as well. It is also said to be the fastest NPU in the world reaching 45 TOPS. Everything about Snapdragon X Plus
The Qualcomm Snapdragon X Plus processor is built on a 4nm process and the same features code generation in Visual Studio code from Codegon to assist programmers. It is also using Riffusion on-device AI to generate new music from prompts.
The chipset features 10x Qualcomm Oryon cores along with 64-bit architecture, and up to 3.4GHz. The processor also comes with 42MB total cache along with Adreno GPU (up to 3.8 TFLOPs), and DX12 API support.
The mobile processor also supports Qualcomm Hexagon NPU, 45 TOPS, and Dual Micro NPU on the Qualcomm Sensing Hub. It also supports up to 64GB eight channel LPDDR5x, 8448 MT/s transfer rate, 135 GB/s bandwidth, and 16-bit.
The processor also comes with SD v3.0, UFS 4.0 and NVMe SSD over PCIe Gen 4. It supports Qualcomm Spectra ISP, dual 18-bit ISPs, Always Sensing ISP, and 2x 36MP dual camera. The processor supports up to 64MP single camera, and 4K HDR video recording capability.
The processor also supports Qualcomm Adreno DPU, along with up to UHD120 and the same features HDR10 (on device display). It also comes with 3 external displays up to UHD60 and HDR 10 as well as 2 external displays up to 5k60. It also features Qualcomm Adreno VPU and 4K60 10-bit encode/4K120 10-bit decode.
The processor comes with Qualcomm Aqstic Audio and Qualcomm aptX Audio. It also supports Snapdragon X65 5G modem that will be offering 10 Gbps peak download speed and 3.5 Gbps peak upload speed. It features FastConnect 7800 Mobile along with Wi-Fi 7, Wi-Fi 6E, Wi-Fi 6, Bluetooth 5.4, Bluetooth LE, 3x USB Type C, 3x USB 4, 2x USB 3.2 Gen 2, and 1x USB 2.
