The chipset manufacturing company, Qualcomm is reportedly planning to announce the Snapdragon 775G on June 17. The Snapdragon 775G is the successor to the midrange 5G chipset from the company named as Snapdragon 765G. Let us see how much of an improvement is Snapdragon 775G over its predecessor.

According to the report from Tencent’s QQ news, the new Snapdragon 775G will have a boost in performance. It will see a 40% improvement in CPU performance and a 50% improvement in performance in the GPU department.  It also features compatibility with Vulkan API. The new chipset is coming with a model number of Qualcomm SM7350 and is tipped to replace Snapdragon 765G.
This 5G chipset will be powering many midrange smartphones in the near future. According to some reports Xiaomi is testing the Snapdragon 775G on its upcoming Mi CC10 which is rumoured to debut soon. If that turns out to be real, Xiaomi will have another record to boast about in its pocket.
This news might be a concern for OnePlus fans, as the OnePlus Z is expected to come in July with the Snapdragon 765G inside. This will look bad for OnePlus as the company is known to provide cutting edge specifications in its smartphones. If Qualcomm announces Snapdragon 775G and OnePlus Z indeed comes with a year-old chipset, it might be tough for OnePlus to sell the new OnePlus Z. The company just teased a new smartphone which many believe is the OnePlus Z.
According to the leaks, it will have a quad-camera setup with 64 MP primary camera and a 4,000 mAh battery supported by 30 W charging. To read more about the OnePlus Z, click here. Would you buy OnePlus Z with a year-old chipset if it comes at around INR 25,000? Let us know in the comments below
