Last month the famous smartphone chipset manufacturing company, Qualcomm announced that they are going to hold an event in December. In this event they are going to launch their upcoming products like latest chipset. Well, today they did it. Today Qualcomm has announced their latest flagship processor and a slightly lower end processor, along with few other products. So without further ado, let’s get to know about these 2020 processors.
Here is the main highlight of this event i.e. Snapdragon 865 processor. This is the most high-end processor by Qualcomm for flagship smartphones of 2020. Though they didn’t revealed technical details of this processor, it’s focus is mainly on 5G connectivity and AI capabilities. Speaking about AI, it’s not exactly reveal what new we are going to see. But in terms of 5G, this Snapdragon 865 chipset will have separate 5G X55 2nd Gen modem. That’s similar to what we are seeing in Snapdragon 855. But good thing Qualcomm is doing here is that they won’t allow any OEM to launch smartphone with Snapdragon 865 without 5G modem.
Now speaking about the lower end processor i.e. Snapdragon 765. Though this is the low energy chipset launched today, but it’s the most powerful mid-range chipset in Qualcomm. Same as Snapdragon 865, we also don’t know technical details of this chipset as well. But as of now what makes it different from Snapdragon 865 is 5G connectivity. Unlike the flagship chipset which has a separate 5G modem, this Snapdragon 765 has an integrated 5G modem. Well that’s interesting because that’s a better thing than the flagship processor. We don’t know why Qualcomm did this, but it’s good to see integrated 5G in mid-range processor.
New Fingerprint Sensor:
Alongside these new processors, Qualcomm also announced the latest Sonic Max in-display fingerprint sensor. This fingerprint sensor is an upgrade to the current model, having support for larger space area. This should be more secure than the current in-display fingerprint sensor.
So that’s all the information we have as of now. Hopefully we will get to see technical details of both processors tomorrow or day after tomorrow. Well, what are your thoughts on this 5G integration? Let us know in the comment section below. Also stay tuned with us for more information.
