Qualcomm officially announced the new Snapdragon X75 and Snapdragon X72 and both are the latest modem-to-antenna solutions. The Snapdragon X75 modem is the world’s first to feature the support for 5G advanced connectivity. It is also coming with a dedicated hardware tensor accelerator and the same will offer improved AI performance. The modem is also offering 10-carrier aggregation for mmWave 5G networks, reduced costs, board complexity, power consumption, and 5G/4G dual data on two SIM cards simultaneously.
The latest Snapdragon X75 is the first 5G Advanced-ready next-generation modem-RF system and the same is coming with a new architecture along with a new software suite from the chipmaker. The Snapdragon X75 is having the power of the Qualcomm 5G AI Processor Gen 2 and it is having a dedicated hardware tensor accelerator. It is also coming with the capability to offer 2.5 times improved AI performance.
It is also featuring 10-carrier aggregation for mmWave 5G, and the users on sub-6Hz 5G networks can access 5x downlink carrier aggregation and frequency-division duplexing (FDD) uplink. The Snapdragon X75 will enable Smartphone manufacturers to cut costs, hardware size, board complexity, and power consumption.
It is also having the power of artificial intelligence as the same can offer capabilities such as location accuracy enhancements and improved connectivity in elevators, subway trains, airports, parking lots, or even during mobile gaming sessions.
The company is also offering the support of Qualcomm DSDA Gen 2 connectivity and the same will enable you to use 5G/4G dual data simultaneously on two SIM cards. It is also featuring Snapdragon Satellite support and the same words announced last month during the CES 2023 event.
It is expected that the Snapdragon X75 modem will make its commercial debut in the second half of this year.
On the other hand, the Snapdragon X72 5G modem-RF system is coming with the support of multi-Gigabit upload and download speeds. It is also said that the modem has been optimised to increase adoption of mobile broadband applications. The company is yet to reveal other details of the modem.
