Qualcomm seeks to enhance the development of AR (augmented reality) related products with its new software platform Snapdragon Spaces.
Using Snapdragon spaces, the chip-making giant is trying to bridge the gap between smartphones and AR glasses. This also indicates that various smartphone brands are likely to launch their own AR glasses.
Simply , your AR Glass will work with your smartphone via the new Snapdragon Spaces software. Qualcomm added that it has created the “Snapdragon Space XR Developer Platform” to help developers improve their existing apps and create new ones to better use wearable Qualcomm AR Development.
In addition, the software will include machine perception technology for next-generation performance and low-power AR glasses. Spaces is basically a piece of software that connects your handset to the AR headset / glasses, but the whole process involves a few details.
In addition to connecting the two devices, the glasses will become an extension of the compatible smartphone, with AR power with processing power and telecom connection.
It is noteworthy that Snapdragon also allows space developers to build 3D applications for AR glasses.Currently, companies like Lenovo, Xiaomi and Oppo are the initial partners of the Snapdragon Spaces platform, while other app developers such as Epic Games are also collaborating to Qualcomm AR Development
