Qualcomm continuously trying to make things better for the customers across the globe, as the company announces new Wi-Fi chip, which will give you better connectivity on crowded networks. The new 802.11ax Wi-Fi standard is all set to replace the current 802.11ac standard, and the changes will take in next few years. The company has already announced a pair of chips which will be compatible with 802.11ax Wi-Fi standard.
The company has revealed the IPQ8074 quad core 14nm processor for forecasting devices like wireless routers and public access point, and it promises to give speed as much as 4.8Gbps across eight 5 GHz streams and four 2.4 GHz streams. But that speed won’t be expect to see on user’s devices, as the QCA6290 chip for laptops, smartphones\ tablets promises peak speed of 1.775Gbps.
As the number of devices increases to connect to Wi-Fi networks, whether it is in home or public places. It becomes difficult to connect with the current Wi-Fi standard to give better connectivity to all the devices, but the new 802.11ax Wi-Fi standard prioritizes network capacity and the way data is transferred to multiple devices.
Modern Wi-Fi routers have the capability to serve individually devices via a process called Single User Multiple Input Multiple Output, or SU-MIMO. But in the new 802.11ax, Multiple User Multiple Input Multiple Output would serve devices simultaneously and become standardized. And it will result to give better Wi-Fi performance with multiple devices connected to the same network.
So, it’s clear that the new chip will give better connectivity on crowded networks, and let’s hope that the new technology will come to the hands of users quickly. And the new standard is expected to be commercialized in the year 2019.
