Realme 5 Series Unveiled With Quad Cameras And More

Realme unveiled the much-anticipated Realme 5 series at an event in New Delhi, the new series delivers the Realme 5 and Realme 5 Pro. The latest smartphones are coming with the Quad cameras setup and making the first brand to offer that under ₹10,000, the devices also feature a stunning design and powered by the latest and powerful processor. Moreover, the company has also announced the new Realme 5 series for the global market as well. Let’s start with the regular variant, the latest Realme 5 sports a new crystal design and holographic color effect, that will offer premium touch. The smartphone has a 6.5-inch HD+ display with dewdrop notch, along with an 89 percent screen-to-body ratio, and has the protection of Gorilla Glass. Under the hood, the affordable device of the Realme 5 is powered by the Qualcomm Snapdragon 665 processor and making it the first smartphone in the market of India to be powered by this SoC. In terms of storage, the device comes with 3 GB RAM with 32 GB of internal storage, 4 GB RAM with 64 GB of inbuilt storage, and 4 GB RAM with 128 GB of onboard storage, and the storage department has UFS 2.1.

Now let’s move to the highlighting department of the smartphone, the regular variant of the Realme 5 series rocks Quad Camera setup at back and making it the first smartphone to feature this and also first to offer Quad Cameras in this price segment.

The camera setup is in the combination of a 12 MP primary camera sensor followed by an 8 MP ultra-wide lens, 2 MP portrait lens, and 2 MP macro lens. The camera department also comes with features like Nightscape Mode, Chroma Boost, PDAF, 240fps slow-mo video recording, among others. On the front side, the Realme 5 features a 13 MP lens for the selfies and video calls. The smartphone also features a rear-mounted fingerprint scanner for the additional layer of security. Talking about the software department, the Realme 5 runs on ColorOS 6 which is based on Android 9 Pie operating system out-of-the-box. It also features the HyperBoost 2.0 for the enhancement in the performance of the smartphone, that’s not all, the device is also loaded with Google AR. The smartphone is backed on a massive 5,000 mAh battery and this is the higher capacity battery in the history of Realme. Finally, it will available in two colour options – Crystal Blue and Crystal Green.

Now coming to the Pro variant of the Realme 5 series, the smartphone offers the same designing setup of the regular variant The Realme 5 Pro sports a 6.3-inch Full HD+ display with dewdrop notch, and will offer a 90.6 percent screen-to-body ratio, along with the protection of Corning Gorilla Glass. The Pro variant of the Realme 5 series is powered by the latest Qualcomm Snapdragon 712 AIE processor along with Adreno 616 GPU for the graphical task. The smartphone will available in three variants — 4 GB RAM with 64 GB of onboard storage, 6 GB RAM with 64 GB storage, and 8 GB RAM with 128 GB internal storage, it also supports UFS 2.1.

The highlight feature of the Realme 5 series is the Quad Rear Cameras and the Pro variant rocks an 8 MP ultra-wide lens with f/2.25 aperture, which is accompanied by a 48 MP Sony IMX586 primary camera sensor with f/1.79 aperture, a 2 MP portrait lens with f/2.4 aperture, and a 2 MP ultra maco lens with f/2.4 aperture. Furthermore, it supports additional camera features just like the regular variant. On the front, you will get a 16 MP Sony IMX571 sensor with f/2.0 aperture. It also comes with the rear-mounted fingerprint scanner and also feature HyperBoost 2.0 that has three options — SystemBoost, GameBoost, and AppBoost. All these features will enhance the smartphone while gaming and heavy usage. Furthermore, the Pro variant also has the Google AR.

Speaking about the connectivity options, the Pro variant of the Realme 5 series will support the 4G VoLTE, Wi-Fi 802.11 b/g/n/ac, Bluetooth 5, GPS + GLONASS, and USB Type-C port, and this time Realme will keep the Type-C cable within the retail box. It also features two Super Linear speakers with Dirac HD Sound for an immersive audio experience. It also has the Splash resistance.

The smartphone will boot on ColorOS 6 based on Android 9 Pie, and it will ship on a 4,035 mAh battery which also comes with support for 20W VOOC 3.0 fast charging technology. It will also available in Sparkling Blue and Crystal Green colour choices.

Pricing and availability

Starting with the Realme 5, the 3 GB RAM variant will have the price tag of ₹9,999 while the 4 GB RAM variant is priced at ₹10,999, and the 4 GB RAM and 128 GB storage variant is priced at ₹11,999. It will go on sale from 27th August via Flipkart and the official website of the brand.

Coming to the Pro variant, the base variant i.e. 4 GB RAM variant costs ₹13,999 while the 6 GB RAM variant is priced at ₹14,999, and the high-end variant i.e. 8 GB RAM will be yours for ₹16,999. The device will go on sale in India from 4th September, exclusively via Flipkart as well as the official website and will later be available through offline stores as well.
