Yesterday, the Realme India support page on Twitter got hacked by cryptocurrency scammers who renamed it to Tesla and even posted the logo of the car making company. After these scammers took control of the account they replied under one of the tweets of the co-founder of Tesla, Elon Musk himself.
These scammers missed out on changing the bio of the profile and hence were easily spotted. Following the hack, these people tried to run cryptocurrency scams. Fortunately, this 15-minute charade was put to an end by Twitter and the team gave back the access to Realme team and removed all the malicious activity.

The people who were behind the attack shared links of some websites and tried to lure people in. Usually, these people share a crypto-wallet address requesting payment in return for double the money. This attack was first spotted by Ishan Agarwal who shared the news. After the restoration of the account Realme India did not acknowledge such an event and continued their daily activity but have now come with up an official statement which reads:
The brand said the following to India Today: “We have been constantly monitoring the development on Realme India Twitter support account. We are also investigating the matter internally and will apprise you once we receive more information.”
