After all the leaks, rumours and teasers, the Chinese electronics giant Xiaomi unveiled its new affordable smartphone called Redmi 6 at an event in China. So, without wasting any time let’s dive into the article to know the specs, pricing, and availability of the newly launched Redmi 6.
The all new Redmi 6 sports 5.45 inch HD+ 2.5D curved glass display with the modern 18:9 aspect ratio and has 1440 X 720 pixels resolution, and an 80.7 percent screen-to-body ratio. The device is powered by 2.0 GHz octa core 12nm MediaTek Helio P22, and the device is paired with 3/4 GB RAM, along with PowerVR GE8320 GPU. In terms of storage, the 3 GB RAM variant has 32 GB of internal storage and the 4 GB RAM variant has 64 GB internal storage and the devices also allows to expand the storage upto 256 GB via MicroSD card.
Speaking about photography department, the device has dual camera setup at the back with the combination 12 megapixel + 5 megapixel with 1.25μm pixel size, PDAF, f/2.2 aperture, and AI Portrait mode and dual LED flash. Moreover, there is a 5 megapixel front facing camera with f/2.2 aperture and AI portrait mode to give the best selfies. Furthermore, the device is also powered by the Xiao AI Assistant. The device also comes with the fingerprint scanner and face unlock feature to give the maximum security options to the users.
Talking about the connectivity options, the device supports hybrid dual SIM, 4G, Wi-Fi, Bluetooth, USB OTG, micro USB, 3.5 mm headphone jack, and GPS. The Redmi 6 runs on the latest Android Oreo 8.1 which is based on MIUI 9 and it can be upgraded to the latest MIUI 10, and the smartphone is backed on 3,000 mAh battery.
Speaking about the pricing and availability, the 3 GB RAM variant is priced at 799 yuan (approx. ₹8,410), and the 4 GB RAM variant has the price tag of 999 yuan (approx. ₹10,520). The device will be available in China from June 15 and there is no word about the availability of the device in other parts of the world.
