Redmi Go To Launch In India On March 19

After being an independent brand Redmi unveiled the first Android Go powered smartphone in January and the device is called Redmi Go. The device also appeared for pre-orders in the Philippian market. Well, now the company is all set to launch the device in the Indian market.

The smartphone brand started sending out invites for Redmi Go’s launch in India, and the smartphone will debut on March 19, 2019. The company will launch the smartphone at an event on March 19 in New Delhi, and that will begin at 12 pm IST.

Xiaomi India chief Manu Kumar Jain has also tweeted about the launch and teases in Hindi, and that suggests the device will help millions become smartphone users. The teaser tweet also has a link to the Mi.com, and that page features several titbits that also point to the Redmi Go phone, including the Android Oreo (Go edition), Qualcomm Snapdragon SoC, and an HD display. The company is also touting Google Assistant in Hindi, support for over 20 regional languages, and dedicated expandable storage.

Specifications of Redmi Go

The smartphone sports a 5 inch HD IPS LCD display with 1280 x 720 resolution and older 16:9 aspect ratio. It has Qualcomm’s Snapdragon 425 quad core processor clocked at 1.4Ghz with Adreno 308 GPU. It has 1GB of RAM and 8/16GB internal storage option with expandable storage. For an Android Go device, 1GB RAM is enough.

Coming to the camera, it has 8MP Rear Camera with f2.0 lens, 1.12mm micron pixel and LED flash. On the front there is a 5MP Camera with f2.2 lens. It runs on Android 8.1 Oreo (Go Edition) with all Android Go apps within. It packs a 3000mAh battery with no fast charging support, but that’s not at all a negative point for an Android Go device. For connectivity, it has 4G, WiFi 802.11, Bluetooth 4.1, GPS, FM Radio, and Micro USB 2.0 port. It’s very lightweight at 137 grams and is 8.4mm thick.
