Redmi Implement Fingerprint Scanner Under An LCD

The in-display fingerprint scanner is the latest security feature which gives an additional layer of protection and it can be found on the high-end devices and that’s mainly because this feature can be implemented on the OLED displays.

However, last year we came across a report and the same suggested that the situation is going to change as it is started to test a fingerprint scanner under the LCD displays and that will allow the brands to implement the in-display fingerprint scanner on the affordable devices.

Well, now the very popular smartphone brand Redmi has successfully tested the fingerprint scanner under an LCD and the same announced on the social media channel.

Redmi, manager Lu Weibing announced that the company has implemented the fingerprint scanner under an LCD, and the company has demonstrated how the feature works on the prototype of the Redmi Note 8 Pro. As we know the LCD backlight module is the biggest problem to implement the in-display fingerprint scanner but he says that the R&D department overcame the challenges and the company is now going forward for the mass production with the feature.

Unfortunately, he did not reveal the name of the first device which will feature the fingerprint scanner n a Smartphone with the LCD. We are looking forward to hearing more about the same in the coming days and we are super excited to witness an affordable smartphone with the in-display fingerprint scanner.
