After all the leaks, rumours, and teasers, Redmi has unveiled the much-awaited Redmi K30 in an event in China, the device is coming with the next generation telecommunication chipset 5G along with and unique design and good specifications. Specifications of Redmi K30
The smartphone comes with a 6.67 inch full HD+ display with the 2340 X 1080 pixels resolution and offers a punch hole setup, it also supports a 120Hz refresh rate. It is powered by Qualcomm Snapdragon 765G processor and becomes the first device to come with the newly announced Qualcomm chipset. Having said that, the 4G variant of the device will be powered with the Snapdragon 730G processor, both the 5G and 4G to be paired with 6/8GB of RAM. In terms of storage, the new device will support 64 GB, 128 GB, and 256 GB of internal storage and that can be expandable via micro SD card.
Moving to the camera department, the new Redmi K30 rocks quad rear camera setup but come with some difference in the 5G and 4G variant. The 5G variant of the device features 64 megapixel Sony IMX686 primary sensor, followed by an 8 megapixel super Wide Angle lens, 5 megapixel macro lens and 2 megapixel depth sensor. On the other hand, the 4G variant of the device will rock 64 megapixel Sony IMX686 primary sensor, followed by an 8 megapixel super Wide Angle lens, 2 megapixel macro lens and 2 megapixel depth sensor. Both the variants will have dual front facing camera and that is in the combination of a 20 megapixel and 2 megapixel camera sensors. The smartphone is coming with face unlock and the side-mounted fingerprint scanner along with the traditional security features.
Regarding the connectivity, the new smartphone features 4G/5G, WiFi 802.11 ac (2.4GHz + 5GHz), Bluetooth 5, GPS (L1 + L2 Dual Band) + GLONASS, NFC, and USB Type-C. Both the variants ship on a 4,500 mAh battery and the 5G model has 30W fast charging support, while the 4G model ships with support for 27W fast charging. The smartphone runs on the latest Android 10 OS out-of-the-box with the company’s own MIUI 11 on top.
Pricing and availability
The pricing of the 5G variant starts at 1,999 Yuan while the 4G variant starts at 1,599 Yuan and the device will available in the market of China from December 12. Unfortunately, there is no information about the availability of the device in other parts of the world.
