Redmi K40 Game Enhanced Edition Launched in China with 67W Charging and Dimensity Chipset

Redmi has finally launched the Redmi K40 Game Enhanced Edition in China. It comes after weeks of leaks and rumours. The smartphone features an industry first lens technology which we will cover in detail below. It is powered by MediaTek Dimensity SoC and has faster charging than its predecessors.

Starting with the display, it sports a 6.67-inch Full HD+ AMOLED display with 2400 x 1080 pixel resolution. The display supports a 120Hz refresh rate and a whopping 480Hz touch sampling rate. It also comes with an HDR10+ rating and covers 100% of the DCI-P3 color space.

Under the hood, the Redmi K40 is powered by the MediaTek Dimensity 1200 SoC which is based on 6nm architecture. It is accompanied by up to 12GB of LPDDR4x RAM and 256GB of UFS 3.1 storage. For extended gaming sessions and a controlled temperature, it comes with aerospace-grade vapour chamber cooling and graphene inside. The company has also launched an ice-sealed cooling back clip too.

Coming to the optics, it sports a triple rear camera that begins with a 64MP primary sensor followed by an 8MP ultrawide-angle camera with a FOV of 119-degree. The primary camera comes with the industry-first ED ultra-low dispersion optical glass lens. Finally, there is a 2MP macro sensor takes the count to three. The centrally-aligned punch hole carries a 16MP front camera. At the back, there is a pulsating ambient light that can light up in different colours and act as a notification indicator.

Regarding the extra features, it comes with NFC, IR blaster, IP53 splash resistance and so on. The dual-stereo speakers are tuned by JBL. It supports Hi-Res Audio and has Dolby Atmos Certification. It is 8.7 mm thick and comes in Silver Wing, Light Blade and Shadow colour options. It is backed by a 5,065 mAh battery and comes with a 67W fast charger inside the box that can take it from 0-100% in under 45 minutes. The charging cable features an L-shaped design. The smartphone runs MIUI 12.5 based on Android 11 out of the box. It weighs 205 grams and is 8.3mm thick.

Pricing of Redmi K40 Game Enhanced Edition

The Redmi K40 Game Enhanced Edition starts at CNY 1,999 (Rs. 23,000) for the 6GB +128GB variant and is priced at CNY 2,199 (Rs 25,300) for the 8GB +128GB model. For CNY 2,399 you get 8GB + 256GB memory configuration. The variant with 12GB RAM and 128GB storage is priced at CNY 2,399 (Rs 27,600) and the 12GB + 256GB version is priced at CNY 2,699. There is a special “Bruce Lee King of Kung Fu” edition, that is priced at CNY 2,799 (Rs 32,500) as well.
