Redmi will be launching its new flagship smartphone series called the Redmi K90 series by the end of this year and today we got a new piece of information that is related to the chipset of the vanilla variant of the upcoming flagship smartphone series of the company. It was expected that the vanilla variant of the smartphone series will come with the power of the Snapdragon 8 Elite processor while the Pro variant to feature the upcoming Snapdragon 8 Elite 2 processor. However, the story will be different this year. The reliable source Digital Chat Station has reported that the upcoming Redmi K90 and K90 Pro will be powered by Qualcomm’s upcoming SM8845 and SM8850 chipsets.
The SM8850 is expected to be the Snapdragon 8 Gen 4, while the SM8845 is a custom-designed 3nm+ chip, developed by Qualcomm in collaboration with Redmi. It is reported that the processor will feature a fully custom architecture and is designed to deliver benchmark scores comparable to the Snapdragon 8 Elite (SM8750).
