After a long one year break, which is unusual on the Android side of smartphones, especially in the budget segment Redmi has announced the Redmi Note 9 4G, Note 9 5G and Note 9 Pro in China. The trio of Notes even though shares the name as compared to those in India, these differ majorly in almost all the departments including design, power and camera.
We might even see them making to India under the Redmi Note 10 moniker soon. Without wasting any more time, let us explore the specifications of the smartphones in detail.
Specifications of Redmi Note 9 Pro
The latest Redmi smartphone features a 6.67-inch Full-HD+ IPS LCD display with 2400 x 1080 pixels resolution along with a punch-hole set up at the centre of the screen along with 120Hz refresh rate and 240Hz touch sampling rate. The smartphone is also coming with a 20:9 aspect ratio and the display is protected by Corning Gorilla Glass 5. It is powered by an octa-core Qualcomm Snapdragon 750G, and is coming with Adreno 619 GPU. The smartphone is paired with up to 8GB of LPDDR4x RAM along with up to 256GB of UFS 2/2 internal storage.

Moving to the camera department, the latest Redmi Note 9 Pro rocks quad rear camera setup and that is in the combination of a 108-megapixel Samsung HM2 primary sensor with 0.7 micron-pixels and 9-in-1 pixel binning, followed by an 8-megapixel ultra-wide-angle lens, along with a 2-megapixel depth sensor and a 2-megapixel macro sensor. On the front, the latest smartphone comes with a 16-megapixel selfie camera. The smartphone also supports a side-mounted fingerprint scanner for an additional layer of security.
Regarding the connectivity options, the smartphone supports 4G, 5G VoLTE, Wi-Fi 802.11ac, Bluetooth v5.0, GPS/ A-GPS, and a USB Type-C port, NFC, dual-frequency GPS, IR blaster and a headphone jack. Other features include IP53 protection, z-axis linear vibration motor and dual speakers. It packs a 4,820mAh battery that supports 33W fast charging and the smartphone runs on Android 10 with MIUI 12 on top.
The Redmi Note 9 Pro pricing starts at 1,599 CNY for 6+128GB variant, 1,799 CNY for 8+128GB variant and 1,999 CNY for the maxed-out 8+256GB version. The Redmi Note 9 Pro will be available in Blue, Orange and Teal.
Specifications of Redmi Note 9 5G

It sports a 6.53-inch Full-HD+ LCD display with 2400 x 1080 pixels resolution along with a punch-hole at the top left corner of the screen. The display is rated at 60Hz refresh rate and it also comes with a 20:9 aspect ratio as well. Under the hood, it is powered by the MediaTek Dimensity 800U. Like the Pro variant Redmi Note 9, 5G supports up to 8GB of LPDDR4x RAM and 256GB of UFS2.2 storage.
Moving to the camera department, it features the triple rear camera setup which consists a 48-megapixel primary sensor followed by an 8-megapixel secondary sensor and finally a 2-megapixel macro sensor. The smartphone also has a 13-megapixel selfie camera sensor. It packs a 5,000 mAh battery and a 22.5W fast charger inside the box. The connectivity options and extra features remain identical to the Pro model. It runs Android 10 with MIUI 12 on top.
The Redmi Note 9 5G is priced at 1,299 for the 6+128GB version, 1,499 CNY for the 1,499 version and the 8+256GB version is priced at 1,699 CNY. It will be available in Green, Purple and Black colours.
Redmi Note 9 4G

The Redmi Note 9 4G, which is the cheapest of the lot features identical display dimensions and rear camera when compared to its 5G counterpart. However, the selfie camera is housed inside a waterdrop notch which is an 8-megapixel unit. The main difference is noticeable in the performance. Its powered by the Qualcomm Snapdragon 662, which is a 4G only chipset. Its backed up by a very large 6,000 mAh battery coupled with an 18W fast charger. Even if its the cheapest mode, it bears the IP52 rating and dual speakers.
The Redmi Note 9 4G is priced at 999 CNY for 4+128GB version, 1,099 CNY for the 6+128GB version, 1,299 for the 8+128GB version and finally 1,499 CNY for the 8+256GB variant.
