After all the teasers and hype, the Chinese electronics giant Xiaomi backed Redmi has unveiled new smartphones in the market of India and the devices are dubbed as Redmi Note 9 Pro Max and Redmi Note 9 Pro. Both devices are giving a strong competition against the recently launched in Realme 6 Series.
Having said that, the latest devices also come with the biggest display in the portfolio of the brand. So, without wasting any time let’s check out the complete specification details along with the pricing and availability details of the newly launched Redmi smartphones.
Redmi Note 9 Pro Max
The smartphone sports a 6.67 in full HD+ display with 2400 x 1080 pixels resolution and it also offers a 20:9 “Cinematic Screen” aspect ratio. The best smartphone also features a punch hole design at the centre of the screen but Redmi calls it DotDisplay, and the screen is protected by the Gorilla Glass 5. Under the hood, the smartphone is powered by octa-core Qualcomm Snapdragon 720G processor and paired with 6GB and 8GB LPDDR4X RAM, along with Adreno 618 GPU for the graphical task. In terms of storage, the Redmi Note 9 Pro Max supports 64 GB and 128 GB of internal storage and that can be expandable via MicroSD card.
Moving to the photography department, the latest Redmi Note 9 Pro Max rocks Quad camera setup and that is in the combination of a 64 MP Samsung GW1 primary sensor followed by an 8 MP 120° ultra-wide angle lens, along with a 5 MP 2cm macro lens, and a 2 MP depth sensor. The same also supports RAW photography. On the front, the smartphone supports a 32 MP sensor. For security, the smartphone supports the side-mounted fingerprint scanner. Moreover, the smartphone supports the Infrared sensor, as well as the P2i coating.
Regarding the connectivity options, the Redmi Note 9 Pro Max supports Dual 4G VoLTE, WiFi 802.11 ac (2.4GHz + 5GHz) 2 x 2 MIMO, VoWiFi, Bluetooth 5, GPS, USB Type-C port, and the same also supports the ISRO developed NavIC. The smartphone runs on the latest version of the Android operating system – Android 10 with the layer of MIUI 11 atop, and the same ships on a 5,020 mAh battery with 33W fast charging technology.
Redmi Note 9 Pro
Coming to the Redmi Note 9 Pro, the device comes with similar specifications to Pro Max variant but there are some notable changes on the board. The difference starts with the amount of RAM as this particular variant supports 4GB as well as 6GB of RAM. Another difference is in the camera department, as the Redmi Note 9 Pro also features quad rear camera setup but it has the 48 mp sensor as the primary unit, the rest remains the same, and the device is also coming with 16 MP front camera. Finally, this variant supports only 18W fast charging technology. Apart from these changes, everything remains the same as the Pro Max variant.
Pricing and availability
Again let’s start with the Redmi Note 9 Pro Max, the 6 GB + 64 GB is priced at ₹14,999 while the 6 GB + 128 GB variant costs ₹16,999, and the high-end variant i.e. 8 GB + 128 GB will available for ₹18,999. The smartphone will available from 25th March. On the other hand, the Redmi Note 9 Pro’s 4 GB + 64 GB variant has the price tag of ₹12,999, the 6 GB + 128 GB variant is priced at ₹14,999. It will be available on 17th March. Both the smartphones will available via Amazon, Mi.com, Mi Home stores, and Mi Studio stores, and later available via major retail stores.
