Redmi is believed to launch a new tablet dubbed the Redmi Pad and the same is making noise for the past couple of weeks. Now we got a new piece of information about the upcoming tablet and it is related to the chipset. It is reported that the company will be launching its tablet with the power of a new MediaTek chipset and the same will have model number MT8781.
Unfortunately, there is no information about the marketing name of the chipset but it is reported that the same will be based on TSMC’s 6nm manufacturing process and the same will have 2 x Cortex-A76 CPU cores working at 2.2GHz, 6 x Cortex-A55 CPU cores ticking at 2GHz, and Mali-G57 MC2. It is also said that the chipset will also feature LPDDR4x RAM and eMMC 5.1 as well as UFS 2.2 storage.
It is also said that the chipset can able to support up to 108-megapixel camera and a 32-megapixel (or a pair of 16-megapixel) front camera. It is also capable to offer 2K video encoding / decoding at 30fps and support the H.264, H.265, and VP9 codecs.
The chipset can able to support 1200 X 2000 pixels resolution along with a 90Hz refresh rate. Regarding the connectivity options, it is reported that the chipset can support Wi-Fi 802.11ac, Bluetooth 5.2, and LTE. It is sad to know that the chipset will not support 5G connectivity.
