Redmi has officially launched its new smartphone lineup in China, dubbed the Redmi R series and the company has introduced 2 models in the smartphone series including the Redmi R70 5G and Redmi R70m 5G, with the power of the Unisoc T8300 SoC along with up to 6,300mAh battery among others. The Redmi R70 5G smartphone has a starting price of CNY 1,599 while the Redmi R70m 5G has a starting price of CNY 1,799. The devices are available in China.
Redmi offers the latest Redmi R70 5G and Redmi R70m 5G with a 6.9-inch HD LCD screen along with a 120Hz refresh rate and a touch sampling rate of up to 240Hz. The device also features up to 800 nits of brightness, a 1500:1 contrast ratio, DC dimming, and Wet Hand Touch 2.0 support.
Both smartphones are powered by the Unisoc T8300 chipset along with LPDDR4x RAM and UFS 2.2 storage. The devices run on Xiaomi HyperOS 3 and Android 16 out of the box.
Speaking about the camera department, both Redmi R70 5G and Redmi R70m 5G models include a 13-megapixel primary rear camera and an 8-megapixel selfie shooter. The devices also support 5G, 4G, 3G, and 2G network support, Wi-Fi 5, Wi-Fi 4, Bluetooth 5.4, NFC, GPS, Galileo, QZSS, BeiDou and USB Type-C for connectivity.
The Redmi R70 5G and Redmi R70m 5G pack 6,000mAh and 6,300mAh batteries along with 15W fast charging and 7.5W wired reverse charging. Both handsets also support a fingerprint scanner for an additional layer of security.
