Samsung is one big name in terms of making internal components of gadgets like smartphone, laptop, and PC. We know that Samsung makes the best SSD in the market right now, and their displays are used by many big giants like Apple and OnePlus. Just yesterday they announced their new flagship processor for upcoming flagship smartphones, Exynos 990. Well, this South Korean company has one more internal components to launch, and that’s for mid-range smartphones.
Samsung has announced uMCP (Multi-Chip Package) which is a combination of certain type of RAM and internal storage. This new uMCP consists of UFC 3.0 storage type and up to 12GB of LPDDRX4 RAM. This combo is specifically for mid-range smartphones. Earlier this year Samsung announced it’s 12GB RAM module with six 16-gigabit chips used in it. But here they are using only four chips of 24-gigabit.
Regarding the internal storage, it’s not specific that maximum how much capacity this module will support. Safe spot for this is 256GB, but let’s wait and watch. This setup will be for premiums mid-range smartphones, like Samsung Galaxy A90 series. But for more budget devices they have an alternative package which consists up to 10GB LPDDRX4 RAM. This one has two 16-gigabit and two 24-gigabit chips.
