When Samsung launched S8 their current flagship smartphone one feature which made market to go crazy is the bixby voice assistant. Bixby, a Samsung developed voice assistant was supposed to do everything as the google assistant and even Apple’s siri. But what made bixby a special thing to consider is that the voice comment feature to navigate through your device even without touching it.
This feature was not initially launched though Samsung claimed to bring that over an OTA update. But even months after launching the S8 bixby voice seems a far cry to the user. Now, Samsung’s smartphone head Koh Dong-jin has come forward to give an explanation that this delay is due to the lack of space needed to store in the data.
“Developing Bixby in other languages is taking more time than we expected mainly because of the lack of the accumulation of big data,” claims a Samsung’s representative to the Korea herald.
Generally, machines to tend to consume more and more data in the process of machine learning. That’s how every assistant learn including the Good assistant. But unlike Google who are masters of Software development Samsung is more of a hardware oriented firm and this makes the process tedious. What makes things more complicated is that Samsung’s Korean unit and the US unit have language barrier as they feel it tough to communicate through. The results for bixby voice assistant in American English is not promising as well.
As of now bixby voice is only available in Korean which is the traditional stronghold of Samsung.
