Now the South Korean electronics giant Samsung has confirmed that its website was hacked and the information of its customers where leaked. Samsung says that the new data breach happened on the Samsung UK online store and the information of customers exposed homemade purchases between 1 July 2019 and 30 June 2020.
The company has said that the data breach was discovered on November 13 and the same was the result of a hacker exploiting a vulnerability in a third-party application used by Samsung. The leaked information might include names, phone numbers, postal and email addresses. But the company has clarified that “the issue did not impact your password or financial information.”
It is also said that the company has taken the needful steps to address the security issue and has reported the incident to the UK’s Information Commissioner’s Office.
