The South Korean electronics giant Samsung had scheduled an event called ‘A Galaxy Event’ and during the event, Samsung unveiled the most high-end smartphone of its ‘Galaxy A series,’ and the device is dubbed as Samsung Galaxy A80. Having said that, this smartphone is the same one which was in the rumour mills as the Galaxy A90. So, without wasting any time let’s find out the specifications, pricing, and availability of the smartphone.
Design of Samsung Galaxy A80
Unlike, other Samsung devices or the devices of Galaxy A series – the new Galaxy A80 comes with the full display and there is no notch on the top of the display. The company has implemented the pop-up camera for the first time in the history of Samsung mobiles, and the camera is not like the ordinary which we have so in other smartphone brands. Samsung has implemented the rotating mechanism that will turn the rear camera to the front facing camera. Moreover, the device features a 3D glass body and that comes with a metal frame. Overall, the device looks good from the front but at the rear side, it is not that attractive.
Specifications of Samsung Galaxy A80
The device sports 6.7 inch Full HD+ Infinity U-Super AMOLED display with the 2400 x 1080 pixels resolution along with 20:9 aspect ratio. The smartphone is powered by octa-core Qualcomm Snapdragon 730G processor, and that is the newly unveiled by the popular chipset makers. The device is paired by 8 GB RAM along with Adreno 618 GPU for the graphical task. In terms of storage, the smartphone has 128 GB of internal storage, sadly, there’s no option to expand the storage.
Speaking about the camera department, the device features 48 MP camera with LED flash and f/2.0 aperture, as well as an 8 MP 123-degree ultra-wide angle camera with f/2.2 aperture, and it also has a third 3D ToF sensor, which enables Live Focus. As I mentioned above, the Galaxy A80 features a rotating pop-up camera setup. The smartphone supports in-display fingerprint scanner for the maximum layer of security.
For connectivity, the smartphone supports Dual SIM, 4G VoLTE, WiFi 802.11 a/b/g/n/ac (2.4 GHz / 5 GHz), Bluetooth 5.0, GPS, and USB Type-C port. The Galaxy A80 runs on Android 9 Pie with Samsung One UI atop, and ships on 3,700 mAh with 25W fast charging.
Pricing and availability of Samsung Galaxy A80
The smartphone is priced at €649, and it will be available from May 29. And there is no information about the availability of the device in the market of India.
