Back in January, Samsung launched their mid-range smartphone Galaxy On7 Prime in India. It was their first mid-range smartphone that’s launched in 2018. Speaking about 2018, this smartphone got a lot of negative reviews from well-known reviewers due to its so many major flaws. Seems like Samsung is not in a mood to compete in the mid-range segment, even in 2018. Now today, we got a leak about Samsung’s first budget smartphone of 2018 i.e. Galaxy J4 (2018). So let’s have a look.
This upcoming Galaxy J4 (2018) is spotted in benchmarking site Geekbench. As the J4 is considered as budget line-up of Samsung, we surely can’t expect anything from this smartphone. But talking about this leak, this Galaxy J4 (2018) will come with Exynos 7570 quad core processor that’s clocked at 1.43Ghz each. Do note that even though this processor was launched way back in 2016, so it’s almost 2 years old processor. But the good thing about this processor is that it is built on 14nm process, which means that it will be a power efficient processor. It will have 2GB of RAM out of which 1822MB is free at the time of running through benchmark. So the internal storage most probably is going to be 16GB, and most probably there will be expandable storage too.

Now coming to an interesting part of this leak, this Galaxy J4 (2018) will run on Android 8.0 Oreo out of the box. As of now, we haven’t seen any Samsung budget smartphone running Android Oreo. So this Galaxy J4 (2018) is most probably going to be first Samsung budget phone to run on Android Oreo out of the box.
So that’s all the information we have as of now. Personally speaking, this phone should be priced very aggressively if they want to compete in the budget segment. Well, what are your thoughts on the same? Do let us know in the comments below. Also, stay tuned with us for more information.
