Along with the Galaxy A6 and Galaxy A6+, the South Korean electronics giant Samsung has launched two devices into the ‘J Series’, and the devices are called Galaxy J6 and Galaxy J8 in the Indian market at an event in Mumbai. So, let’s check out the specification, pricing, and availability details of both the new devices.
Galaxy J6
Let’s start with the Samsung Galaxy A6, the device sports polycarbonate uni-body construction. The Galaxy J6 comes with 5.6-inch HD+ Super AMOLED Infinity Display and has 1480 x 720 pixels resolution with an aspect ratio of 18.5:9. It is powered by Exynos 7 Octa Core processor and paired with 3/4 GB RAM. In terms of storage, the 3 GB RAM variant of the device comes with 32 GB of internal storage and the 4 GB RAM variant of the device has 64 GB of onboard storage. If the internal storage is not enough for you, then the device will allow you to expand the storage upto 256 GB via microSD card.
Moving to the photography department, the device has 13 megapixel rear camera with f/1.9 aperture and LED flash, along with 8 megapixel front facing camera with f/1.9 aperture and LED flash. The device also features a Fingerprint Scanner. The smartphone also features Samsung Mall, and Chat-over-Video
Talking about the connectivity options, the device supports 4G VoLTE, Bluetooth, Wi-Fi, micro USB, 3.5 mm headphone hack, and GPS. It runs on Android Oreo 8.0, and backed on 3,000 mAh battery. Speaking about the color choices, the device will be available in Black, Gold, and Blue.
Galaxy J8
Now coming to the Galaxy J8, it is the bigger variant of the Galaxy J6. As the device sports 6-inch HD+ Super AMOLED Infinity Display along with 1440 x 720 pixels resolution and an aspect ratio of 18.5:9.The device is powered by Octa Core Snapdragon 450 processor and paired with 4 GB RAM. In terms of storage, the device has 64 GB of onboard storage. Moreover, the device also allows you to expand the storage upto 256 GB via microSD card.
Coming to the camera department, the device has dual rear camera setup with the combination of 16 megapixel (f/1.7 aperture) + 5 megapixel (f/1.9 aperture) with Live Focus and LED flash, along with 16 megapixel front facing camera with f/1.9 aperture and LED flash. The device also features a Fingerprint Scanner. The smartphone also features Samsung Mall, and Chat-over-Video.

The 32 GB variant of J6 is priced at ₹13,990 and the 64 GB variant of the J6 has the price tag of ₹16,490, and the device will be available from May 22 through Flipkart, Paytm Mall, Samsung eShop as well as through retail stores across the country. On the other hand, the Galaxy J8 has the price tag of ₹18,990, and it will be available in July.
