The South Korean electronics giant Samsung is reportedly working on the next generation. Samsung Galaxy S26 series and the Samsung Galaxy 26 Ultra is already on the headlines for the past few weeks. It was recently reported that the device will come with a new 200 megapixel telephoto sensor. And today we got more details about the matter. According to X tipster @SiddhantGeek, another prototype of the upcoming Samsung Galaxy S26 Ultra has the dual-telephoto setup, but the focal lengths are different. The 3X telephoto has been replaced with a 3.5X one, and the same finally includes a larger 50MP sensor. The sensor reportedly measures 1/3.15″ and a pixel size of 0.56um.
While the native pixel size of the 50MP sensor will likely use 4-1 pixel binning and the same can capture at 12.5MP, it can record in 8K from the 3.5X telephoto. The periscope telephoto now has 8X magnification, the new sensor has the 50MP resolution but is slightly smaller at 1/2.76″.
