We are just a few months away from the official announcement of the Samsung Galaxy S26 series and now we got a new piece of information that says the company is working on the upgraded camera setup for the next generation flagship smartphone series. The source did not mention the exact name of the smartphone series and we believe that this is pointing towards the 2027 models and it is the Samsung Galaxy S27 series.
The global shutter sensors will be different from the more common rolling shutters by capturing all pixels at once without warping or distortion. This makes global shutter sensors superior to rolling shutters in capturing moving subjects.
Samsung’s global shutter sensor is expected to feature 1.5 µm-sized pixels stacked in a 2×2 formation and a 12MP resolution. The new report also says Samsung’s global shutter sensor will feature an embedded analog-to-digital converter.
