The users of tablets are less compared to smartphones, but are constant and loyal which gives an aim to OEMs for making more tablets. Though new innovations comes in smartphones first, buy eventually tablets also get those newbies. Seems similar with 5G connectivity. It’s an year now since we are seeing 5G smartphones in market, but there’s no tablet with the same feature. But today this scenario changed because Samsung has launched the first ever tablet with 5G support.
Samsung has just unveiled the Galaxy Tab S6 5G in South Korea, the home market for Samsung and one of the limited region where stable 5G is available. The 4G version of this Galaxy Tab S6 was launched back in July 2019. The specifications of both versions are almost similar, but are still flagship level. This Galaxy Tab S6 5G still has the same Snapdragon 855 processor, but as this one has 5G so Qualcomm’s X50 5G modem is also placed inside. Other specifications like Quad HD+ AMOLED display, 7040mAh battery, and S-Pen support are exactly same as 4G variant. So with just an updated X50 5G modem, this tablet by Samsung becomes the first ever tablet to have 5G connectivity support.
Pricing & Availability :
- It’s priced at KRW 999,900 ($850)
- Only 6+128GB variant will be available.
- It will go on sale in South Korea starting tomorrow.
- No information about the availability in other 5G supported regions.
