The South Korean electronics giant Samsung has officially introduced a special version of Samsung Galaxy Z Flip 5 which was introduced in the month of July this year and the new special edition phone is called the Samsung Galaxy Z Flip 5 Retro edition. The device is introduced to celebrate the legacy of innovation and there are only cosmetic changes and the internal is the same as the original version. The designing setup of the new special edition phone is inspired by the SGH-E700, Samsung’s first flip phone with a built-in antenna and the same was introduced in 2003.
The latest Samsung Galaxy Z Flip 5 Retro features a retro design with Indigo blue and silver colors, and the device also features some nostalgic pixel graphics UI tweaks and a cityscape animation on its Flex Window cover screen.
The retail box of the special edition phone comes with logos of both the Z Flip 5 and the E700, as well as Flipsuit cards with stickers featuring the various Samsung logos from past eras. It also includes a Samsung E700 collector card engraved with a unique serial number.
The specifications are the same as the original variant which means the new Samsung Galaxy Z Flip 5 Retro edition also comes with a Qualcomm Snapdragon 8 Gen 2 processor along with a 120Hz refresh rate. The device also features a 50MP main sensor on the back along with a 12MP ultrawide sensor and a 10MP telephoto sensor.
The newly introduced Samsung Galaxy Z Flip 5 Retro edition will be available in limited quantities in South Korea from November 1, and in the UK, France, Germany, Spain, and Australia from November 2. There is no information about the pricing details of the special edition.
