It was recently reported that the South Korean electronics giant Samsung will extend its update policy for Smartphones and Tablets. Well, now the information has turned out true as the company has officially revealed the information during its recently concluded Samsung Galaxy Unpacked 2022 event.
Samsung has officially confirmed that the premium devices will receive four major Android updates and the company will deliver security updates for 5 years. That means the buyers of the newly announced Samsung Galaxy S22 series and Samsung Galaxy Tab S8 series will receive updates till 2026.
A total of at least 12 devices are eligible for the new policy the list includes the newly launched Samsung Galaxy S22, Galaxy S22+, Galaxy S22 Ultra, Galaxy Tab S8, Galaxy Tab S8+, and the Galaxy Tab S8 Ultra. Samsung has included its premium devices from last year and the list includes Galaxy S21, Galaxy S21+, Galaxy S21 Ultra, Galaxy S21 FE, Galaxy Z Fold 3, and the Galaxy Z Flip 3.
Samsung has done a great job by extending its update policy and it is worth mentioning that Google offers three years of Android updates for its Pixel smartphones.
