It looks like Samsung has not forgotten about Android Go phones, which cater to users for entry-level budget phones. The company has launched its first Android Go phone this year – Galaxy J2 Core (2020), making it the second Android Go phone to release this year after Nokia.
Specifications of Samsung Galaxy J2 Core (2020)
Galaxy J2 Core (2020) is powered by Samsung’s in the house – Exynos 7570 SoC. The processor is based on a 14nm architecture. The phone has an inbuilt storage of 16 GB with further expansion possible, thanks to a micro SD card slot. The RAM is fixed at 1 GB which is quite adequate to run the lite version of Android. The display is a compact 5-inch LCD panel with qHD resolution (960 x 540p).

The front is surrounded by thick bezels housing a 5MP selfie camera. The rear consists of an 8 MP camera with Auto Focus. However, it ships with two years old, Android 8 Go edition when Android 10 Go is already available. The battery capacity is clocked at 2,600 mAh, and the cell is removable.
The handset has a dual sim card slot along with dedicated slot of micro SD card. It has LET connectivity as well.
Pricing and availability
The Galaxy J2 Core (2020) is priced at Rs. 6,200 (~$83). Three colour variants in which the phone is available are Gold, Blue and Black. This phone joins the list of Android Go phones next to Nokia 1.3, which is based on Android 10.
