In this launch, Mark Quiros, Marketing Vice President, Display Division, said, “Samsung is introducing its first webcam monitor with a number of settings for long-term hybrid jobs and learning environments.” In addition, he mentioned that this is to make life easier for those who are into video calling or multitasking.
He added, “Thanks to the webcam at the top of the screen, users do not need to attend a video conference, take an online class, attend a virtual event, buy another device from the same monitor, or handle more cables.” On the front, the monitor has a 2 megapixel FHD camera and an infrared camera (which is ‘Windows Hello’ certified) mounted on a pop-up camera. To bring the camera module to the top, it only pops up when users push it down on the monitor.
The monitor’s camera offers a 178 degree horizontal and vertical wide viewing angle, built into the webcam and saves speakers’ port space. When connected to a laptop, the monitor can also act as a USB hub. Notably, the webcam monitor S4 is VESA compatible, with its height-adjustable stand (HAS) tilting, tilting, and pivoting.
