Samsung will be launching its first ever Samsung XR headset and the same is known as Project Moohan. It is in making with the collaboration of Google and Qualcomm as well. Today the official renders and new details of the device have surfaced online. So let’s get into the article to check out the details.
Going through the new report. We can see that the South Korean electronics giant Samsung is obtaining the design cues from Apple’s Vision Pro. The upcoming headset features two internal lenses, a wraparound “Light Shield” for a snug fit, and an external battery pack.
The front and back feature cameras and sensors. Four sensors sit under the front glass for hand tracking, while two circular sensors near the nose cutout track the lower field of view. The device also features a proximity sensor near the forehead that is to detect physical surroundings
Inside, the device houses a pair of cameras near each lens for eye tracking. The device is reportedly using infrared LEDs and AI to monitor eye movement and pupil position in real time. Both displays will come with 4K micro-LED panels with a density of 4,032 pixels per inch, totaling around 29 million pixels. The device will come with the power of the Snapdragon XR2+ Gen 2 processor.
The device features multiple microphones that can isolate your voice from background noise and enhance others’ voices. The head strap houses speakers on both sides, while the right side also comes with a touchpad for navigation. The top side of the device has two physical buttons including a “Top” button on the right that launches the main UI, and a volume rocker on the left. The bottom side of the device has air vents. The user interface is similar to a Galaxy phone. It will also come with full support for the Google Play Store. The device is expected to offer up to 2.5 hours of video playback and 2 hours of general use.
