Key Points:
- Samsung will launch the devices via the online event.
- The company forcefully canceled the event due to the outbreak of coronavirus.
- Unfortunately, there is no official confirmation about the same.
The South Korean electronics giant Samsung is working on the successor of a Galaxy Note 10 and Galaxy Fold which is the company’s first foldable device and we already heard much information about both the devices. Well, today we got a new piece of information which suggests the launch date of the upcoming Samsung flagship devices.
According to the latest report, Samsung will launch both the Galaxy Note 10 and Galaxy Fold devices via an online event on August 5 which is actually the usual timeline for the launch of its Note series. Having said that, the company is launching the new devices via online because of the coronavirus and this is for the first time the company is launching its flagship devices without the presence of the audience.
Apart from this, the source does not reveal any other information about the upcoming devices but we already have plenty of information.
It is believed that the vanilla variant i.e. Galaxy Note 20 with the traditional 60Hz refresh rate and the Galaxy Note 20+ will have the trendy 120Hz refresh rate. It will have a 64 MP main camera wheres the Galaxy note 20+ will have the 108 MP main camera from the Galaxy S20 Ultra. Other cameras might include a 12 MP telephoto camera, a 12 MP ultra-wide-angle camera and a laser autofocus sensor for faster focusing too. In comparison, the Galaxy S20 Ultra had a 48 MP telephoto camera to boot.
Another tip points to the fact that the Galaxy Note 20+ camera’s lower resolution is intentional, following the performance issues of the Galaxy S20 Ultra cameras. It will supposedly help solve the issue caused by cramming in too many megapixels into a smaller sensor. This issue causes inter-pixel interference phenomenon producing worse picture quality. This is caused by the inability of individual pixels to receive sufficient light due to the tightly-packed array.
On the other hand, the primary display of the upcoming Galaxy Fold 2 will have a 7.59 in display with 2213 X 1689 pixels resolution and a 120Hz refresh rate. It is also said that the company wanted to implement the real in-display front camera but it was not ready and that’s why the device will have a punch-hole setup. It is expected that the company will use a UTG film cover that is not good news but we hope that the company will implement some good coating to prevent unwanted scratches.
Moreover, it is also tipped that the front display will feature is a 6.3-inch display with 2267 x 819 pixels resolution and that will also support the 60Hz refresh rate. It is also said that the same will have a punch-hole setup. Lastly, it is also said that the Galaxy Fold 2 will be accompanied with the S Pen and that will match with the Note series.
So, let’s wait for the official announcement of the upcoming devices and we believe to hear more about the same in the coming days.
