After months of leaks and rumours, Samsung has unveiled its flagship smartphone, the Galaxy Note 20 and Galaxy Note 20 Ultra. These smartphones come with the infamous S-Pen and pose as an upgrade over its predecessors, the Galaxy Note 10 Family. It comes with all the latest and greatest specifications at the company’s disposal. Without wasting any time let us check out the detailed specifications of Galaxy Note 20 Series.
Samsung Galaxy Note 20 Ultra

The smartphone features a 6.9 inch Quad HD+ Dynamic AMOLED 2x Curved display with 1440p+ resolution and 120 Hz refresh rate along with 240 Hz of touch sampling. But you can only use the smartphone with maximum resolution or refresh rate at once. Among the new features, the Galaxy Note 20 Ultra will be the first device to be protected by Gorilla Glass Victus. It can resist scratches and survive drops from 2 meters on a hard surface. The company has also embedded an ultrasonic fingerprint reader for security in the display. Underneath the display, it houses a punch-hole selfie camera under the display at the centre.
It is powered by the latest Snapdragon 865 Plus SoC from Qualcomm for International markets and India along with other markets like Europe will get the old Exynos 990 SoC. Its paired with 12GB of RAM. In terms of storage, the device will available in 128 GB or 512 GB of internal storage and supports expandable storage via microSD card.
Moving to the photography department, it rocks a triple rear camera setup and that is in a combination of a 108-megapixel primary sensor which can shoot videos in 8K resolution at 24 FPS or at 1080P resolution at 120 FPS with a 21:9 cinematic aspect ratio. Other features include OIS (Optical Image Stabilisation) and the Phase Detection Auto Focus is done with the help of Laser Autofocus. This time the company has got rid of the 3D ToF sensor. and Dual Pixel Autofocus. It is followed by a 12-megapixel telephoto sensor with f/3.0 aperture that supports up to 5X optical zoom. Lastly, there is a 12-megapixel ultrawide angle sensor of f/2.2 aperture with 120-degree FOV. The device also comes with a 10-megapixel front-facing camera with f/2.2 aperture.
Regarding the connectivity options, Galaxy Note 20 Ultra supports Wireless DeX, 5G, 4G LTE, Wi-Fi 6, Bluetooth 5.0, GPS/ A-GPS, NFC, and a USB Type-C port. The software is based on Android 10 with One UI 2.1 on top. The smartphone is powered by a 4,500mAh battery and comes with a 25 W fast charger inside the box. It also supports 15W fast wireless charging and 9W reverse wireless charging. It weighs just under 210 grams and is 8.1 mm thick.
Samsung Galaxy Note 20

The Samsung Galaxy Note 20 features a 6.7 inch Full HD+ AMOLED Flat display. Samsung decides to use the 60 Hz refresh rate panel, unlike its Ultra model. It is protected by the old Corning Gorilla Glass 5. It is powered by the same Snapdragon 865 Plus from Qualcomm for most markets and paired within 8 GB of RAM and 128 GB of internal storage and does not support external storage expansion.
Moving to the camera department, the latest Galaxy Note 20 comes with triple rear cameras and it starts with a 12-megapixel primary sensor that has a large 1.8µm pixels. It features Dual Pixel AF and OIS. It is followed by a 64-megapixel sensor which supports 3x lossless zoom and 30x Space Zoom (Digital). Lastly, there is a 12-megapixel ultrawide angle camera as seen on the Ultra model. It packs a 4,300 mAh battery and comes with 25W fast charger inside the box. It weighs about 192 grams and is 8.3 mm thick. Rest of the specifications align with the Ultra model.
S-Pen

The differentiating factor that sets apart the Note Series from other smartphones is the S-Pen Over the years, Samsung has perfected the S-Pen so much that it comes with so many features and is arguably the best in the industry. The S Pen and the supports a Wacom layer which brings down the latency to just 9 ms. According to the company, it will feel like writing on paper. Now any notes you takedown on the Samsung Notes Application can be synced to other devices and can be converted to Microsoft Office formats. The S-Pen now supports five new Anywhere actions, using which you could “draw” in the air to go Back, open Recent apps, go Home and more.
Pricing and availability
The Samsung Galaxy Note 20 Ultra 5G is priced at $1,299 for the 128 GB variant. It is available in Mystic Bronze, Mystic Black and Mystic White colours. The Samsung Galaxy Note 20 5G is priced at $999 for the 128 GB version. It will be available in Mystic Bronze, Mystic Green and lighter Mystic Gray colours. Both smartphones will start shipping from August 21 for “select” markets.
