The South Korean electronics giant Samsung is one of the top contenders of the 5G connectivity enabled devices and the company unveiled a couple of devices with the next-generation cellular connectivity. However, the company used Exynos 5100 or Snapdragon X50 modern for its devices. But today the company has unveiled a new processor which is its first 5G integrated mobile chip and it is called Exynos 980.
Everything about Exynos 980
The CPU of the new chipset has Cortex-A77 units at 2.2 GHz and another cluster of six Cortex-A55 cores at 1.8 GHz. It also include WQHD+ displays with up to 3360 x 1440 pixels resolution, and supports 5G NR modem with 2.55 Gbps DL and 1.28 Gbps UL speeds, while the LTE is Cat.16 5CA with downlink up to 1 Gbps, the uplink is Cat.18 2CA with 200 Mbps. Exynos 980 supports UFS 2.1 and eMMC 5.1 storage and just LPDDR4x RAM.
It can feature up to 108-megapixel single camera and 20 megapixel + 20 megapixel dual camera, it also supports 4K UHD at 120 FPS. The mass production of the new chip will start by the end of this year, which means the company will implement the new chip on the devices which will unveil in the first quarter of the next year.
