Along with the Galaxy Note 9, the South Korean brand Samsung has unveiled its new smartwatch called Galaxy Watch. That said, the company is actually rebranded its Gear series, and that’s why the Galaxy Watch is also known as the Gear S4. So, let’s check out the details of the newly unveiled Samsung Galaxy Watch.
The Galaxy Watch is the successor of the Gear S3, and the company has announced two variants of this smartwatch i.e. the 42 mm and 46 mm – the 42 mm has 1.2 inch display and 46 mm variant is coming with 1.3 inch display and both variants sports Circular Super AMOLED Full Color Always On display and has 360 x 360 pixels resolution. Furthermore, it is protected with Protection: Corning Gorilla Glass DX+, MLD-STD-810G certified military-grade durability, 5ATM, and IP68 water resistant, which means it is protected with all kinds of unwanted incidents.
Both the variants of the Galaxy Watch is powered by dual-core Exynos 9110 SoC, and this device has Bluetooth and LTE variants. That said, the Bluetooth variant is paired with 768 MB of RAM, and the LTE variant has 1.5 GB of RAM. Both the variants have a 4 GB of internal storage.
The all new Galaxy Watch runs on Samsung’s in-house Tizen-based operating system version 4.0 and comes with a different number of sensors heart rate monitor, step counts, sleep cycle, and other fitness activities. There’s a new stress management tracker which can detect high levels of stress automatically and gives breathing exercises.
In terms of connectivity, the Galaxy Watch supports 3G/LTE network, Bluetooth V4.2, Wi-Fi b/g/n, NFC, GPS (A-GPS/Glonass), and MST (Magnetic Secure Transmission) support for Samsung Pay. Talking about the power, the 42 mm ships on 270 mAh battery and the 46 mm has 472 mAh battery, and the company has introduced a Wireless Charger Duo which will charge the device. The device will be compatibility on Android 5.0 or above, and iOS 9.0 or above.
Speaking about the pricing and availability, the 46 mm variant is priced at $349.99 (approx. ₹24,153), and the 42 mm variant has the price tag of $329.99 (approx. 22,774). It will be available from August 24.
