Samsung launches two new fitness trackers at the on-going IFA event in Berlin, and the newly unveiled devices are called Samsung Gear Fit 2 Pro and Samsung Gear Sport. So, let’s dig into the article.
Samsung Gear Fit 2 Pro:-

Following the announcement of the Gear Fit 2 fitness tracker last year, Samsung has now revealed its successor called the Gear Fit 2 Pro. The event took place in a pre-IFA affair at Berlin, Germany. Not to mention, the company had mistakenly revealed the details of the device in its official website last week. However, it did manage to notice it and rub it off later.
The Gear Fit 2 Pro is now official and it’s officially the successor of the Gear Fit 2. The device comes with a 1.5-inch curved Super AMOLED display with Gorilla Glass 3 and a resolution of 216 x 432 pixels. It’s being powered by a dual-core processor which is coupled with a 512 MB RAM. As every other Samsung wearable, the Gear Fit2 Pro too runs the on the company’s own Tizen OS.
The Gear Fit2 Pro also has 4 GB of in-built storage along with a 200 mAh battery that keeps the lights on. While all this is similar to what we have already seen on last year’s Gear Fit2, what’s new on Samsung Gear Fit2 Pro is that it now comes with water resistance of 5 ATM which means you can use it underwater at a depth of 50M. The device also comes with swim tracking courtesy of Samsung’s partnership with Speedo. Your swimming activities are tracked by the Speedo On app which comes pre-installed on the Gear Fit2 Pro. Moreover, other activities like walking, running and cycling will also be tracked.
Samsung Gear Fit2 Pro Price and Availability:
Speaking about the pricing, it is priced at $199 (around ₹12,740). And you can pre-order it from today with sales starting from September 15.
Samsung Gear Sport:-

Alongside the Great Fit 2 Pro Samsung has also announced the Samsung Gear Sport Smartwatch in the same event. While the former is just a tracker the latter is a full-fledged Smartwatch which succeeds the likes of Gear S3 Classic and Gear S3 Frontier.
Apart from the usual things that others smartwatches do, the Gear Sport also doubles up as a fitness tracker and that too a full-fledged fitness tracker. Which means you can perform all the actions of the Gear Fit 2 Pro in Gear Sport as well. This thing can automatically track your activities like walking, running and cycling and along with that, it can also track other activities like dancing or playing basketball.
The Smartwatch also comes with Heart Rate sensor which monitors your heart rate in real-time, whether you are doing any exercises or simply resting on a couch. Moreover, like the Gear Fit2 Pro, it also comes with swim tracking which is done by Speedo’s Speedo On app. Other apps like Under Amour Record, MyFitnessPal, MapMyRun and Endomondo found on the Gear Fit2 Pro, along with Spotify Offline mode, have also made their way on to the Samsung Gear Sport. The device can further be used for controlling IoT enabled Samsung devices to use it as a remote controller or for Samsung Pay.
