Say Hello To Threads, A New App For Instagram Close Friends

Back in last year, the developers of the world’s most favourite social media application Instagram introduced a new feature called Close Friends and that allows users to share their stories with those people who are on the list. Well, today the company has launched a standalone application called Threads and this is meant for close friends.

The all new Threads app will allow you to share images and videos easily with the people in your close friends list by allowing you to add their profile pictures at the bottom of the screen, and you can also take an image or shoot a video by simply tapping on their photo and simply tap on their photo then swipe up to send.

It is also coming with a dedicated inbox and that is entirely different from the Direct Messages of the regular Instagram application. The inbox of the Threads application will show the messages of your close friends only. Having said that, you can chat with those people on the regular application as well.

The Threads application is also has a feature called Status and that is similar to the WhatsApp’s About feature, and that can be shown using different emojis. If you are very busy then you can post updates automatically by turning on the Auto Status feature. Speaking about the automatic sharing feature, it will use your location, for example; if you are at cafe then the application will utilize the location feature and update your status with a coffee cup emoji. And don’t worry about privacy because the company promises that the location data will not be stored on their servers.

In terms of availability, the application will available on both the Android as well as IOS and it is rolling out globally which means if you want to experience the new application then you can download it.
