Google is always try to make things easier to its users, and in that way Google is now bringing cool feature in its search bar of Google Now launcher. The search bar gets a sub-widget in the new update. It is server side update so it may be take some time to reach on your device.

In the latest update, there is a transparent sub-widget appears below the Google search bar widget. The sub-widget shows information related to your travelling distance or whether, once you tap it will take you to the Now Feed and you scroll the relevant cards.
If the option is not enabled automatically, then head to the settings of the Google app and find the option called widget, just toggle it to enable the feature. Grab your device and check for the Google app update.
