The popular mobile chipset maker Qualcomm has officially introduced a new mobile processor called the Snapdragon 7s Gen 4 chipset and the processor comes with 7 percentage of improvements in CPU and GPU, compared with the previous generation. The newly announced processor is based on a 4mm process, and it supports 5G connectivity among others. The newly announced Snapdragon 7s Gen 4 comes with the same architecture of the Snapdragon 7s Gen 3, as the latest mobile processor comes with the same 1+3+4 Kryo CPU design and the latest processor is built on the 4nm process.
It is revealed that the Prime Cortex-A720 core and the processor runs at 2.7GHz, slightly higher than last year’s 2.5GHz, while the three Cortex-A720 cores at 2.4GHz and four Cortex-A520 cores at 1.8GHz remain unchanged.
The chipset maker says that the new processor comes with around 7% improvements in performance of CPU tasks and the GPU capabilities. The latest processor also comes with Snapdragon Game Super Resolution and Adaptive Performance Engine 3.0 features.
Talking about the display setup, the latest Snapdragon 7s Gen 4 supports ultra-wide panels with up to 2,900 x 1,300 pixels resolution at 144Hz refresh rate. The processor also features up to 200-megapixel cameras and 4K video recording at 30 fps with HDR10 and HDR10+ formats.
The chipset also comes with an updated Hexagon NPU and the same brings support for models such as Llama 1B and Qwen 1B. This will enable real-time translation and improved AI-driven tasks. The processor also supports sub-6GHz 5G, Wi-Fi 6E, and Bluetooth 5.4 for connectivity. It features aptX Lossless audio along with the support of UFS 3.1 storage and LPDDR5 RAM.
It is already confirmed that the upcoming Redmi Note 15 Pro Plus will be introduced with the power of the new Snapdragon processor, and the device will be announced on August 21.
