Qualcomm is hosting its annual event where the company already announced the latest and greatest Snapdragon 8 Gen 3 mobile processor along with the Snapdragon S7 and S7 Pro Gen 1 audio chipsets, the popular chipset maker has introduced the latest Snapdragon X Elite for laptops. So let’s get into the article to check out the details of the new processor.
The newly announced Snapdragon X Elite is based on a 4nm process node and the same features 12 high-performance Oryon cores which clocked at 3.8 GHz with single and dual-core that offer up to 4.3 GHz. The company says that the latest processor is matching with the Intel 13th gen CPUs on multi-threaded performance while drawing 68% less power.

Having said that, the latest Snapdragon X Elite is integrated with Adreno GPU and the same is rated at 4.6 TFLOPs with support for DirectX 12 API. The processor is also capable to manage up to 3x external UHD monitors at 60Hz.
It also supports the Adreno video processing unit (VPU) and the same features 4K60 10-bit encodes as well as decodes for H.264, HEVC (H.265). It also comes with the support for AV1 files. The latest Snapdragon X Elite also features a Hexagon NPU with 45 Tera operations per second (TOPs) which excels at Generative AI tasks and the chip can manage 13 billion parameters running on the device as well as it can generate 30 tokens per second.
The latest chipset also features LPDDR5x RAM with up to 136 GB/s memory bandwidth and 42MB total cache along with PCIe Gen4 or UFS 4.0 storage. Regarding the connectivity options, the latest Snapdragon X Elite features a FastConnect 7800 System with support for Wi-Fi 7 and Bluetooth 5.4. It is also supporting a Snapdragon X65 5G modem for cellular connectivity with up to 10 Gbps peak download speeds. It also supports lossless audio playback with the power of the Qualcomm Aqstic DAC and the processor comes with the Qualcomm Spectra image signal processor (ISP) with support for up to 36MP dual cameras and 4K HDR video capture.
