Soni has declared a collaboration with the popular game developer Bungie. Sony buys Bungie to hire talents. Jason Schreier said that the Japanese company is acquiring the big game development company for a big deal. According to the report, the deal is worth $3.6 billion. By the collaboration, Bungie comes under the PlayStation family. At the same time, it will work independently to make its own games.
The statement of the collaboration was made by both companies. Around two weeks ago Microsoft acquired Activision Blizzard. It was a 60 billion US Dollars deal. Bungie comes with a great track record and titles as well as it is one of the popular game developing companies. The company unveiled mechanics that are staple in games as well.
Earlier the tech giant Microsoft acquired Bungie and Halo. It was for the Xbox gaming console. Both companies jointly worked on making a few sequels. After that Bungie started to work independently.
This consolidation increases the competition between console makers. Both the companies are planning to introduce new gaming including the Metaverse.
According to a blog post, the CEO Pete Parsons said that Bungie is going to become a global multi-media entertainment venture. They independently work to polish and create games. The collaboration will help to speed up the hiring of skilled workers across the entire studio.
