Sony CMOS IMX661 Image Sensor announced with 127.68-megapixels

Have you ever thought that the general megapixel race is a waste of time and energy? In response to this demand, Sony has announced the new CMOS IMX661 image sensor with a whopping 127-megapixels and hope to solve the problem, faced b creators filming on a large scale.

It features a global shutter function combined with Pregius shutter pixel technology. According to the company, the new sensor will process images four times faster than the current speed. Both colour and black and white versions of the sensors will start shipping from April-May of this year and orders are already being sent to Sony for the unit.

It comes with multiple signal processing functionalities making it apt for several industrial functionalities. It is easier to send the device to numerous high-speed and generally challenging areas and access scenarios, without many efforts. It showcases the efforts taken by the company to help overcome the difficulties faced by the industry.
