Sony has officially unveiled the new PlayStation game subscription service that has long been considered the company’s answer to the Xbox game pass.
Sony Interactive Entertainment (SIE) says the new subscription service will be available on three levels. The first is that the PlayStation Plus is basically its current service and offers users at least 2 free games every month with access to multiplayer.
The next tier, called the PlayStation Plus Extra, will provide players with a catalog of 400 games that can be downloaded, including blockbuster hits from the PlayStation Studio catalog and third-party partners.
PlayStation Plus Premium Subscription offers all the benefits of essential and additional ranges. It also adds up to 340 additional games, including PS3 games available via cloud streaming and favorite classic games available in streaming and download options from the original PlayStation, PS2 and PSP generations.
These tires also offer limited time trial trials so customers can try out selected games before purchasing.
At launch, Sony plans to include titles such as Death Stranding, God of War, Marvel’s Spider-Man, Marvel’s Spider-Man: Miles Morales, Mortal Kombat 11, and Return.
Sony has confirmed that the new PlayStation Plus service will be available in most PlayStation Network areas by the first half of 2022.SIE has also disclosed the prices of their subscription services for various regions such as US, Europe, UK and Japan.
