Sony hits center stage at CES 2019 when it announced it was a thin, cool wireless speaker with a unique glass design. The so-called Sony LSPX-S2 Wireless Bluetooth Speaker has been on sale for $ 550 ever since. Probably a factor as to why they’re doing so poorly – Sony has just announced a new version of its LSPX-S2 glass speaker.
The new speaker LSPX S3, in the form of the same glass lamp as the first model, was priced at $ 349.The speaker vibrated a glass tube to act as a tweeter, the Sony claims that design projects sound in every directions and the glass has a light fixed inside with 32 different brightness levels. This allows the speaker to act as a bedside lamp or as a candle light on the dinner table.
In addition to the glass tweeter, the LSPX-S3 speaker also features a mid-range driver, while the low-end notes are maintained by a passive radiator. The device supported for Sony’s LDAC codec. In terms of battery life, the speaker can last up to 8 hours, which is more than USB-C charge.Sony is expected to launch the new LSPX-S3 glass speaker in August.
