The Japanese electronics giant Sony does not have a good time in the smartphone industry, but the company dominated in the camera department, and now Sony teases a new Camera sensor along with the first camera sample. The upcoming camera sensor is dubbed as Sony IMX686 and that will be the successor of the Sony IMX586.
The upcoming camera sensor teased in a video but there is no information about the specification details such as resolution. However, rumours suggest that the upcoming Sony IMX686 will feature a 64 or 64 megapixel camera sensor. You can check out the video by heading over the link.
Having said that, the company also shared some camera samples of the upcoming sensor and it came from a prototype board that connected to a computer and the device which is in the video is a dummy. Going through the images, the shots are not in the full resolution but it’s impressive.
Along with the video, the company confirmed that the new camera sensor will be released in next year but didn’t mention the exact timeline.
