Since the beta program started, the developers of the most popular instant messaging application WhatsApp started to roll out new features almost in every day, and many of them become the part of the stable version of WhatsApp app. Now the developers of instant messaging application are testing a new feature which is called Restricted Groups, and it will allow the admins to get more control over the people who are the part of the group.

With the new feature, the group admins can able to control the messages from others, as the app will allow group admins to decide whether all the members of the group can send messages, or only the admin can. If the admin has restricted the members from sending messages, then members will see a message which reads “Only group admins can message this group“.
The members will get two options which are called ‘Message Admin’ and ‘Mute’, if any member wants to send a message in the group then he/she need to message the admin using the option ‘Message Admin’. It’s worth to mention that this feature lets the group admins restrict members from posting to the group once every 72 hours only. But I think WhatsApp will allow the admin to change the setting after the 72 hours, as this feature would be handy only if the admins can impose restrictions.
This all-new Restricted Groups feature has been spotted in beta version 2.17.430 of the messenger for Android, and it has also been spotted in WhatsApp for iOS, however, this feature is currently disabled by WhatsApp, users will only be able to use the feature when WhatsApp flips a switch from their servers, or, when the developers roll out this feature for all the users.
What what do you think about the new Restricted Group feature??? Do let us know in the comments section below!
