At present, if you delete your Threads account then you will be losing your Instagram account as well because it is interconnected. But this will be changed very soon.
It is said that the top most executive has confirmed that the Threads application will enable users to delete their account very soon without losing Instagram account.
Having said that, the capability will not be available immediately as it is said to be available by the end of this year. It is also said that the implementation of the new feature is very challenging as well.
