We are just a week ago to see the second generation of Google Pixel devices, and couple of days ago, we got a report which said about the pricing and colour details of the new Pixel devices. And now today, we got specs details of the Pixel 2 and Pixel 2 XL.
Thanks to Android Authority, as the information is provided to them by an “exclusive source”. According to the source, both the Pixel 2 and Pixel 2 XL will be powered by Snapdragon 835 processor, which is what we can find on majority of this year’s Android flagship devices. Moreover, we already know, both the smartphones will be offered in 64 GB and 128 GB storage options. And there is no information about the RAM.
The company has ditched the 3.5 mm headphone jack on the sec-gen Pixel devices, and instead, the devices are coming with dual stereo speakers. The source also says, that Google won’t be offering USB Type-C headphones in all the parts of the globe. Well, I think that’s not fair and I hope Google will rethink about this.
Speaking about the display, the Pixel 2 XL has a curved QHD screen. On the other hand, the Pixel 2 sports Full-HD screen. Moving to the design, the Pixel 2 XL is said to have screen-to-body ratio of around 80% to 85% which signals that it will flaunt smaller bezels similar to Samsung Galaxy S8. And the Pixel 2 won’t have this kind of design though, rather, it will look similar to the first-generation. And both the devices have Gorilla Glass 5 on top, for the protection of the display.
The Mountain View company Google is also calling the cameras of second generation Pixel devices as “Pixel Cameras” which would come with OIS. The first generation Pixels didn’t have OIS and they instead relied on EIS. In terms of connectivity, both the devices are coming with an E-SIM card slot, with this you can able to use different networks even without changing your SIM card. Moreover, the device also has IP67 dust and water resistance.
And as we updated earlier, both the Pixel devices also coming with a feature called Active Edge feature on its left side, which will allow you to squeeze the phone to launch Google Assistant or perform some other tasks. The Pixel 2 is backed on 2,700 mAh battery, and the Pixel 2 XL has 3,520 mAh battery. And both the devices will come with Android Oreo out of the box, which is not a surprise.
Moreover, it is also to be said that with the purchase of these Pixels, you will get unlimited Google Cloud storage and it will be valid until 2023.
So, what’s your thoughts about the second generation Pixel devices??? Do the features make you want to buy the new Pixels??? Don’t forget to share your thoughts in the comments section below!
